The Anxious Traveller

Just a girl travelling the world with anxiety

1. Use your common sense and intuition. Basically don’t be so naïve

2. Don’t try and push your own culture or religious beliefs on others. Have respect for others

3. Respect locals and their customs. You are in their country

4. Be kind and supportive to other travellers. We’re all in this together

5. Learn how to say please and thank you in the language of the country you’re in. Manners go a long way

6. Don’t take the piss. Yes it’s ok to haggle, but it’s not ok to pay drastically under the price of what something is worth just so you can get a bargain

7. Your way of traveling is no better than anyone else’s. Don’t be arrogant

8. Enjoy yourself. Yes you’re out of your comfort zone but that’s the beauty of travel

9. Don’t be whingy, you know what you’ve gotten yourself in to so don’t whine over it

10. To sum up the following commandments, be kind, don’t be a dick

Do you agree or disagree with these? Do you have travel commandments of your own that you would add? Leave a comment and tell me what you think.
